Established in 1995, Barbieri Advogados has practised through three decades of profound change in Brazilian law. From the consolidation of the Plano Real to economic liberalisation; from the employment, pensions and tax reforms to the digital transformation of the courts and of legal practice itself; from the modernisation of corporate law to Brazil’s international repositioning — between the Mercosur-EU Agreement and China’s rise as a strategic partner. Our practice took shape within that current. The history of Barbieri Advogados is, in part, the history of that period.

What matters, above all else, is the client. Nothing we do exists outside the client’s interest. To anticipate needs before they are articulated; to protect interests with technical integrity; to communicate frankly the real risks, deadlines and prospects — even where frankness is unwelcome; and to be personally answerable for the acts of each engagement: this is what defines, in concrete terms, the practice we conduct. We do not treat the client relationship as the provision of a service, but as the adoption of the client’s interests as our own. This is the only way we know to practise law.

Over three decades, the firm has renewed itself continuously — in its partners, in its team, in its geographic reach.
