Barbieri Advogados maintains its own office in Stuttgart, from which it conducts a transnational practice at the interface between Brazilian and European law. The operation draws on the admission of one of the firm’s lawyers to the Rechtsanwaltskammer Stuttgart and on the firm’s institutional membership of the Câmara de Comércio e Indústria Brasil-Alemanha (AHK-SP — Brazil-Germany Chamber of Industry and Commerce in São Paulo) — conditions that enable direct and coordinated work with institutions, regulators and counterparties across the German-speaking world.
The practice is structured around three main pillars. In European AI and blockchain projects, the firm acts in research partnerships and exchanges — particularly the interface with Estonia, a European leader in e-Government, digital identity and digital legal infrastructure — and in initiatives conducted within the framework of European legislation, including the AI Act (EU Regulation 2024/1689) and the regulation of crypto-asset markets (MiCA, EU Regulation 2023/1114), in the adaptation of those projects for Brazilian companies subject to dual regulatory regimes (EU and Brazil). In transnational succession, the firm acts in succession matters involving Germany, Austria and Switzerland, having regard to the interface between the Brazilian succession regime and its German counterpart. In international contracts, the firm advises Brazilian and European companies on the structuring, drafting and negotiation of cross-border contracts with counterparties across the German-speaking world.
The practice works in close coordination with Wealth and Succession in its Brazilian domestic dimension, with International Contracts in related foreign-trade operations, and with Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence in its Brazilian regulatory dimension.
